New Services Available to our Patients
Local Care Record
To enable information to be shared more quickly and to improve patient care received locally, a new process has been put in place in Southwark and Lambeth. This will join-up care records from local hospital organisations (Guys & St. Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust) with GP Practice information through existing computer systems. It is called the Local Care Record.
It allows practice staff to view certain details in the hospital record and vice versa. Information such as medication and discharge summaries – NOT CONSULTATION NOTES OR FREE TEXT. It is no different to staff sending and receiving paper documentation as they do now, it is just a lot quicker to access.

You are now able to make appointments, order prescriptions and view information relating to your allergies and adverse reactions, immunisations and medication as part of your medical record. Please register online for Patient Access by clicking here Once registered you will need to come into the surgery with two forms of identification, one of which must contain a photograph (i.e. driving licence and/or passport). You will also need to provide proof of address such as a recent Council Tax or Bank statement. For Terms and Conditions and a downloadable form please click here and click on the tab EMIS Patient Access. Your application will be held for a period of 3-months if you are unable to provide proof of identification at the time but, if you still do not provide proof of identification after this 3-month period, you will need to re-apply for online access.
CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU
The Citizen's Advice Bureau are available at the Practice for a Walk-in or timed appointments on Monday every week.
CANCELLING APPOINTMENTS USING TEXT MESSAGING
If you receive text message reminders for your appointments, you can cancel your appointment by texting the word CANCEL to the number provided when you receive your text reminder. Please note this will only cancel your appointment and NOT the text messaging. If you wish to cancel the text messaging, please text STOP to the number given on the appointment reminder you have received.

Important news from the Prime Minister’s Challenge Fund
Thanks to a new initiative in Lambeth all GP Practices are now able to offer appointments to patients at alternative “Hub” sites.
In hours access (when we are open) is available from 08:00 to 18:30 weekdays
Out of hours access (when we are closed) is available from 18:30 to 20:00 weekdays and from 10:00 to 18:00 at weekends.
PLEASE NOTE: appointments for this service MUST be made through the surgery or the out of hours provider.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS
Please remember that it takes 48 HOURS (2 WORKING DAYS) for a repeat prescription to be processed.
Please ensure that you order your repeat before you run out of medication.
GP Net Earnings
NHS England require that the net earning of doctors engaged in the practice is published and the required disclosure is shown below. However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with any other practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Brixton Hill Group Practice in the last financial year was £50,393 before tax and national insurance. This is for six part time GP's and once locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.
Patient Participation Group
For information relating to your Patient Participation Group, please click the link to the right on this page under the heading 'Have your Say' entitled 'Patient Group'. If you would like to join the Group forms are available from Reception or from the Patient Group section of this website.
All patients are allocated a named GP when they register. If you cannot remember which GP you were allocated, please ask one of the receptionists. The allocation of a named GP does NOT mean that you can only see this doctor, you have a choice to see any GP. Your named Doctor is the GP who will take responsibility for overseeing the management of your health needs and medicines, and who will work with other health and social care providers who are involved in your care. All doctors at our practice are able to access your health record.

We operate a booked appointments system. Any registered patient may call 020 8674 6376 to make an appointment or book it online if you are registered to make online bookings and repeat prescriptions. If you are late for an appointment, we may have to ask you to re-book. If you need to cancel your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that we can offer it to others.
